5. How much hardener (B-Component) should I use in a Domestic Use Application?
- One Coat Wood Oil - 20% on wooden floors
- One Coat Worktop Oil - 20% should be used on work surfaces and tables
- One Coat Door Oil - 10% can be used on doors surfaces
- Varnish 2C - 20% at all time
6. How much hardener (B-Component) should I use on floors in a Commercial Use Application?
- One Coat Wood Oil - 30% on wooden floors
- One Coat Worktop Oil - 30% should be used on work surfaces and tables
- One Coat Door Oil - 10% can be used on doors surfaces
- Varnish 2C - 20% at all time
7. How long does the product last when the B-Component has been mixed in?
The product is useable for days and can last up to a few months when kept in a sealed container. It may form a skin which can removed and the oil stirred and used again.
8. How many layers should be applied?
- One Coat Wood Oil - One layer
- One Coat Worktop Oil - One layer
- One Coat Door Oil - One layer
- Varnish 2C - 2 layers up to 3 layers
- HydroGuard - one layer is sufficient however another layer can be applied for a solid effect
- Colour Base - one layer can be applied
- Creative Base - one layer can be applied
- Charred Wood Sealer - 1 - 2 layers
- Aged Grey - 1 layer
- UV Oils - 2 - 3 layers can be applied
9. Can I apply more than one layer of the Wood Oil?
You don't have to but if you would like to create a sheen another thin layer can be applied to the surface once it has fully cured after 5-7 days. This is called film building which will give the surface a slight sheen.
10. Can I spray the product?
All our products can be sprayed. Consult Technical Data Sheet or call Technical Support for guidance.
11. Can I use any products on Valchromat?

13. What do I use to apply the product with?
- Once Coat Wood Oils to be aapplied with scrubby pad.
- Varnish 2C to be applied with a microfibre roller.
- Hydroguard to be applied with a paint brush and evened out with a sponge.
- Aged Grey to be applied with a well drenched paint brush.
- Charred Wood Sealer to be applied with a paint brush.
- All products can also be sprayed on.
14. What should the final sand be before Oil application?
The final sand before oiling the surfaces we recommend 120 grit, maximum 150 grit.
15. Can I use the products on soft woods?
All our products can be used on softwoods.
16. Can I use the products on hardwoods?
All our products except the Aged Grey can be used on Hardwoods. Aged Grey works best on softer
woods which have been brushed.
17. Must I sand the surface first?
When applying the One Coat Oils the surface must be sanded to bare wood.
18. How long is the drying time?
All the drying times can be found on the Technical Data Sheets.
19. Can I clean the surface before it has cured?
Do not clean the surface with any wet cloths or mops before the surface has fully cured. Read specification on each Technical Data Sheet for drying and curing times.
20. How do I maintain my finished application?
Each product has its own maintenance program. Consult Technical Data Sheet for maintenance instructions.
