Charred Wood Sealer
Koate Charred Wood Sealer is a professional protective finish designed for burnt, charred and scorched timber. It helps seal the surface, reduce soot transfer and preserve the natural appearance of charred wood while providing a durable finish suitable for architectural timber, cladding, furniture and other decorative wood applications.

Application
Applying Charred Wood Sealer
Spray application — recommended method
- Apply one even coat.
- Use only stainless-steel spray equipment and fittings, including couplings and seals.
- Apply evenly to achieve full, consistent coverage.
- Avoid over-application or pooling of the product.
Brush application
- Apply one even coat using a suitable brush, in the same manner as applying paint.
- Work the product evenly into the surface.
- Avoid leaving excess product on the surface.
Vacumat application
If applying by Vacumat, ensure the machine and all product-contact components are compatible with water-based coatings and follow the relevant machine settings and application guidance.
Aftercare
Cleaning
Once fully dry, the treated surface can be cleaned with a soft cloth or sponge and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
Avoid aggressive detergents, solvents or abrasive cleaning pads that could damage the finish.
Maintenance
Inspect the surface periodically, particularly on exterior or high-use applications.
Where necessary, clean the surface thoroughly and reapply Charred Wood Sealer to maintain appearance and protection.
For exterior timber, maintenance frequency will depend on exposure, weathering and site conditions.
Storage
Store Charred Wood Sealer in the original, tightly closed container in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area.
Protect from frost, excessive heat and direct sunlight.
Recommended storage temperature: 5°C to 30°C.
Keep the container closed when not in use and prevent contamination with water, dust or other materials.
Do not allow the product to freeze.
